A few good questions.
Things to know before your next stop, or before welcoming someone to your hangar.
What is Hangar Today?
Hangar Today connects traveling pilots with hangar owners who have space to share. It grew out of a familiar problem: finding a welcoming place to keep your airplane at the end of a day of flying.
How do I find a hangar along my route?
Use Find a hangar to add your destination or a route with multiple stops. Add your aircraft to compare fit information, and explore the map or list to see spaces near your trip. You can also browse all hangars in one list.
How do I know if my airplane will fit?
Listings include owner-provided measurements or aircraft that have actually fit in the space. Fit colors help you compare that evidence, but wingspan alone does not confirm a full fit. Check the door opening, usable space, aircraft height and length, and any other aircraft sharing the hangar with the owner before arranging a stay.
Can I book a stay yet?
Yes. Request a space with your dates and aircraft. Stripe places a card hold for the stay and 15% platform fee; the owner must accept and payment must succeed to confirm your reservation. Same-day requests are allowed.
Can I list space in a shared hangar?
Yes. You can list either private or shared space. Describe the space available to a visiting airplane, including measurements or aircraft that fit with the other airplanes present.
Does it cost anything to list my hangar?
Listing is free. You set your nightly rate and can offer a discount for stays of two or more nights. Pilots pay a 15% platform fee when booking.
Can I save a listing and finish it later?
Yes. Choose Save for later in the listing form. You can return to a saved draft, review the details, and publish when you’re ready. Publishing requires signing in.
What is the cancellation policy?
Before arrival day, pilots can cancel for an automatic full refund including the platform fee. On arrival day and the following two days, a full refund requires owner approval before the cutoff. Starting three days after arrival, refund requests go through support. Owner cancellations receive a full pilot refund. Dates follow the airport’s local calendar.
Do owners need to finish payout setup before accepting?
No. You can accept a reservation and finish payout setup later from your account. Earnings become eligible three calendar days after arrival, subject to setup, verification, settlement, and any refund or support hold. Bank payouts run weekly on Mondays after release; bank arrival can take longer.
Who is behind Hangar Today?
I’m Atlas, a private pilot with more than 1,000 hours of cross-country flying in my Cessna 180. I also own two hangars, and wanted to make it easier for traveling pilots and owners with empty space to find each other.
